Sunday January 20th 2-5pm

1504 W. 18th Street, Chicago, IL 60608

Moon Rise is back and ringing in the new year with a community based event focusing on education, Chicago's youth, and literacy, to run alongside Aida Flores' campaign for Alderwoman. Public education is a huge issue in our city and a main focus of Aida's campaign; the event will include a panel discussion centered on this topic.

We're bringin' in powerful, relevant voices from the 25th ward, including local businesses, like Open Books, a local NFP social venture that provides literacy experiences for tens of thousands of readers each year through inspiring programs and the creative capitalization of books.

Moon Rise is encouraging attendees to bring books to donate to Open Books. There will also be some available to take and swap. All books donated will benefit OB reading and writing programs across Chicago!

Disclaimer: This is not a Moon Rise fundraiser or official campaign promotion. We dig what Aida Flores is doing in the community and want to support positive action. If you feel the same and want to join us for some southside activisim too, roll through and say hi.
