Moon Rise aimed to bring Chicago together to support women's access to affordable reproductive health services, protecting the right to safe and legal abortion, and the fight to pass HB 40. We also created a platform within the fundraiser to celebrate local artists, screening a selection of short film projects by Chicago female filmmakers, addressing freedom and the complexity of femininity and empowerment.

Planned Parenthood Illinois Action, an independent, nonpartisan, 501(c)4 not-for-profit organization, is an ardent supporter of policies that enable Illinoisians to access comprehensive sexual and reproductive health care education, and information. PPIA fights back when anti-abortion politicians try to ban abortion, deny access to affordable birth control, and prevent care at Planned Parenthood health centers. They campaign for basic human rights of patients, volunteers, supporters, activists, and staff of all races, faiths, genders, and identities when under attack.

Reached goal.

Through the medium of art and community consciousness, Moon Rise raised funds to protect reproductive rights in Illinois by supporting PPIA. As a secondary initiative, we collected feminine products to donate, helping low and no income women in need of tampons and pads.
